The ArQuives is pleased to announce that the SOY Archive, a full 14 boxes of materials, has been donated to the archives. The Supporting Our Youth (SOY) project was launched in April 1998. The program was developed after consulting with LGBTQ youth in Toronto who had a strong desire for more social programming and more activities targeted to youth as an “entry point” to the LGBTQ community. SOY was originally meant to serve as a three-year community development project with the goal of creating opportunities for LGBTQ youth in the areas of recreational activities, culture and arts, employment, housing and mentoring. In 2004, SOY became a permanent program of the Sherbourne Health Centre.
