More than $329,000 has been raised to date to support the preservation and growth of our collection – both physically and digitally – as well as to support our increasing role in education and outreach.

The gala is an energizing evening of creative costumes, contemporary cuisine, dancing, and live auction, bringing together over 400 LGBTQ2+ community members, politicians, labour advocates, business professionals, artists, and allies, representing various industries, organizations, and companies.

Please note that due to concerns with COVID-19, our committee is rescheduling the event that was set for:

Saturday, March 28, 2020 | 6:00pm
Bram and Bluma Appel Salon
Toronto Reference Library 789 Yonge St.

Ticket Sales are Paused Until Further Notice

Please note that due to concerns with COVID-19, our committee is pausing event ticket sales and developing an action plan in light of this unique situation.

We will be in touch with those who have already purchased tickets and tables once decisions with the Executive Director and the Board have been confirmed.

Fund A Need:
Community Archivist Initiative

Our outreach programs connect the public with our strong sense of identity and shared heritage for LGBTQ2+ Canadians. Our 2017 Flashback Gala literally opened the doors to our Isabella Street collection with much-needed physical upgrades to improve accessibility. Last spring, the Metamorphosis Gala helped us build out our digital access, which has already increased our reach by 25 per cent.

Now we’re seeing the gaps in our collection more clearly. It’s time to amplify voices from our big beautiful queer and trans culture. Our goal is to bring new materials into the collection from historically underrepresented communities, including Indigenous, women, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, Black, people of colour, and persons with disabilities. We’re bringing in members of these communities, training them in archival skills and letting them guide the expansion of our collection. All of this requires financial support.
