Scott Kettles (left) with CBC Radio’s Mary Ito and long-time The ArQuives volunteer Don McLeod.   Dear Friends, I am so thankful for the opportunity I’ve had to serve as General Manager and Executive Director with The ArQuives for the last 3 and a half years. The experience has provided me with many wonderful memories, and a sense of pride, in being able to be a part of The ArQuives as it continues to grow. There are many exciting plans ahead for the Archives, none of which would be possible without you, the supporters of The ArQuives – I want to say thank you for all you do. Being a supporter of The ArQuives comes in many forms; financial donors, donors of material/records, corporate partners, staff, Board Director, and as a Volunteer. The ArQuives was founded in 1973, and has survived and grown over these past 40+ years because of this combination of support. It has been an honour for me to have worked alongside and to meet such committed and passionate people in our community, and it is an experience I won’t forget. The success of The ArQuives – past, present, and future – could not and would not be possible without all of you. I welcome and congratulate The ArQuives’s new Executive Director /Archives Manager, Rebecka Sheffield, and Full time Volunteer and Community Ourteach Coordinator Jade Pichette, in their new roles at The ArQuives. I know they, with The ArQuives Board of Directors and volunteers,  will be sheperding The ArQuives to new, important accomplishments. Before I wrap up my time here at the end of June, I wanted to invite you all to one last event! One of my favourite memories of my time at The ArQuives has been meeting Mary Ito, host of CBC’s Fresh Air. Mary came for a tour of the Archives, and interviewed myself and longtime volunteer Don McLeod in advance to our First Gala in 2013, about the history of The ArQuives, and the future of the organization. Mary has attended both The ArQuives Galas, and is a passionate ally to The ArQuives. And she loves to dance! So much so that we are hosting a tea dance together on June 14th at the Gardiner Museum! I do hope you will join us there, the details are included in this newsletter. I want to say thank you again to all of you who have supported, and continue to support, The ArQuives. The ArQuives’s tagline isKeeping Our Stories Alive – a simple four words that holds so much meaning to me, and to all of us. Wishing you all the very best.   Scott
