Curatorial Internship (volunteer) Posted Jan. 28, 2013 The ArQuives (The ArQuives) are proud to announce the second year of an ongoing program of volunteer internships. One Curatorial Internship is offered for Spring/Summer 2013. The ArQuives, the largest, independent LGBT archives, celebrates its 40
th anniversary in 2013. The intern will provide assistance to the curators of two major archive-based exhibitions: the
National Portrait Collection exhibition (May 3 – June 10) and
The Body Politic/Political Bodies (opens for Pride in June). Duties will include: administrative tasks, research, writing, event promotion, and support for installation & de-installation. For more about The ArQuives and exhibitions, see:

https://arquives.ca/research-and-public Eligibility Existing positions are open to current and recent graduates students in a relevant advanced degree. Exceptional candidates graduating in 2013 from a Bachelor in Museum Studies or other relevant programs will be considered.
Terms The intern will work part-time over 3 or 4 months, depending on start date. The minimum commitment required is 150 hours in a 3-month period. A small honorarium will be awarded upon completion. An April start date is preferred, but consideration to a May start date will be considered.

Application Materials:
- Cover letter (outlining reason for interest in the internship, long-term goals, and preferred schedule) and include details of course credit that may be received. We are willing to negotiate the terms with your program, if desired.
- A full résumé or CV, with the names and contact information for two referees; one must be your advisor and one is of your choosing.
- A digital copy of a writing sample. The sample should be approximately 10-20 pages. A photocopy of your latest transcript [an official copy is not necessary]
