Doors Open 2013 Toronto

May 25th and May 26th, 10am — 5pm. (Last admittance 4:30)

Tours of the house address both the architectural features of the building, the history of The ArQuives, and will be conducted at regular intervals on Saturday and Sunday. The National Portrait Collection (NPC) honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth of diverse, out and proud LGBT communities in Canada. The NPC will be displayed in the Gallery showcasing an exhibit entitled “Everyday Freedoms, Everyday Archive: The Accumulations of Richard Hudler, Rupert Raj, and You.” The exhibition makes use of the Archives to provide context to the outstanding contributions of Hudler and Raj, trailblazers in queer and trans politics respectively.
