A Conversation with Porpora Marcasciano

Join us in welcoming Porpora Marcasciano to Canada to speak of her experience fighting for trans rights.

Porpora Marcasciano has been a key figure in the fight to recognize the rights of the Italian trans community. She has written several books that narrate what the community has endured. Recently, she was elected as a member of Bologna’s city council.

After the lecture, there will be a small reception, followed by the first Canadian screening of the documentary Porpora (2020), based on her life events. In the end, the two protagonists of the documentary (Porpora Marcasciano and the producer Vittorio Martone) will hold a brief Q&A.
