Stop by 34 Isabella any evening from now until Nov 2nd to see the incredible public installation by Toronto artist Abdi Osman, building on his ongoing research surrounding the gaps between experiences and representations of queer cruising, space- and place-making in the city.
Look to the upper windows at The ArQuives to see projections of lush green park environments documented by Osman from sites across Toronto, enriched by online audio about queer cruising shared by Black, queer, and trans community members. You can access the audio via a QR code posted in our windows.
Be sure to register for the upcoming online public panel, scheduled Sept. 29, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, that will explore histories of cruising from local perspectives. Presented by the Mark Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, panelists include Abdi Osman, JORIAL (John Richard Allan), and Christopher Smith. Register HERE.
