Highlights from our 2014 Disco Gala
The music and style of the 1970s returned on Saturday, November 29, 2014 as three hundred guests in their best disco-inspired outfits joined The ArQuives for our Disco Gala, hosted at the Toronto Reference Library. It was a spectacular party, with a cocktail reception, photo booth, full course dinner, live and silent auction, entertainment, followed by a disco dance party! Thank-you to all who attended for making the night a success. Since our beginning in 1973, The ArQuives has collected and cared for LGBTQ+ histories and survived as an independent archives thanks to generous support from our community. A special thank-you to Symone, our MC extrordinaire, who returned from Vancouver to party with us again this year. Thank-you to the one-of-a-kindKeith Cole, our auctioneer who kept the bids coming from our generous guests. And thank-you to all the businesses, organizations, and individuals who dononated items to our live and silent auction! And thank-you to Michelle Ross, Shawnee Talbot, Ryan Scheel and the T.O. Troopdancers, and the Toronto All-Star Big Band for entertaining us throughout the night! Amazing performances!
