Join us for free online workshops highlighting the rich primary source materials held at our archive! We’ll introduce participants to our Education Resources and archival collections, with guidance and frameworks for integrating them into your teaching practice.
Workshop description:
In this virtual workshop designed for high school teachers across Canada, we will explore the value of primary sources in the classroom to activate lessons, activities, assignments and critical discussions about 2SLGBTQIA+ histories, communities, and cultures. Highlighting the rich primary source materials held at The ArQuives (the world’s largest independent collection of LGBTQ2+ documentary heritage, based in Toronto, ON) and their value for educators across the country, this workshop will introduce participants to The ArQuives’ Education Resources and archival collections, with guidance and frameworks for integrating them into your teaching practice.
If you love (queer) history, media literacy, inclusive curriculum, and are looking for ways to enhance your approach to classroom education, this workshop is for you! No preparation is required, and attendance is free. Participants do not need to be currently employed as a high school teacher to attend. We encourage attendance based on the region where you ordinarily reside, but no one will be turned away.
