The ArQuives is producing a colourful three-part publication that will showcase dramatic stories of individuals who challenged fear and discrimination to establish Canada’s thriving and diverse LGBTTIQQ2SA culture.

Research currently underway is unearthing fascinating accounts of courage, caring, and creativity. The blog is your opportunity to follow The Stories Project team’s process of discovery as they delve into the archive’s rich, historical collection and amass material for the publication. The posts provide a weekly account of their experiences exploring records, letters, photographs, and a wide assortment of colourful artifacts stored at The ArQuives.
The Stories Project will consist of the following three volumes, each reflecting a key area in which hard-won victories were achieved, relationships built, and ideas explored: Equality, Community, Self-expression.
Currently the blog includes posts on the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, David Rayside and the fight for gay rights, early Toronto tabloids, the Association for Social Knowledge (ASK), and more!
The project is funded by the Pride and Remembrance Association.
